Girls Basketball: South Callaway 52, Fatima 42

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - It took the undefeated South Callaway Lady Bulldogs nearly three full quarters to lead Wednesday night's Class 3 District 9 semifinal game against Fatima. But once they did, they didn't give it up as the Lady Bulldogs rallied to defeat the Lady Comets 52-42 to advance to the championship game.

Kayleigh Torufa drained a 3-pointer with about :36 on the clock in the third quarter to give South Callaway a 37-36 advantage heading to the fourth quarter.

Fatima scored the game's first 14 points, but South Callaway chipped away. It was 16-8 after the first quarter and 27-23 at halftime.

Adrian Mann led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points and Delaney Horstman scored 16.

Fatima's Courtney Wolfe scored 15 points before exiting with about three minutes left in the third quarter with an injury. Gina Stegeman added 12 points for the Lady Comets, who end the season at 19-8.

South Callaway (25-0) advances to play Hermann (23-4) at 6 p.m. Friday.
