HIGHLAND, Kan. — For the second straight week, William Woods senior Madelyn Scrivner was named the American Midwest Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Scrivner (Eldon High School) broke the school record in the women's weight throw Saturday at the Highland Challenge. She finished first in the event with a throw of 52 feet, 7.5 inches, winning the event by nearly three feet. The mark is a "B" standard for the NAIA indoor national track and field championships.

In the shot put, Scrivner added a third-place finish with a throw of 39-9.75.

This marks the fifth time Scrivner has won the indoor season's weekly honor from the AMC during her career.

Westminster senior Taylor Howard (South Callaway High School) had a pair of top-3 finishes at the meet.

Howard's best finish came in the women's 400-meter dash, where she took second place with a time of 1:05.24. She also took third in the triple jump with a distance of 30-1.5.

In her other events, Howard placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (29.08 seconds), eighth in the 55-meter dash (8.03 seconds) and eighth in long jump 13-5.5.

Westminster junior Kole Rackers (Blair Oaks High School) had a fifth-place finish in the men's 500-meter run with a time of 1:14.93. Rackers also placed 12th in the 200 (26.64 seconds) and 13th in the 55 (7.49 seconds).
