College Track: Dorge wins hammer throw

PITTSBURG, Kan. - Central Missouri senior Amy Dorge recorded a win in the women's hammer throw Saturday at the Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State.

Dorge (Blair Oaks High School) posted a distance of 176 feet, 3 inches in the hammer throw, winning by nearly 16 feet. Her throw was also enough to be a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II national championships.

In other events, Dorge also finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 138-1, as well as a sixth-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 42-5.5.

Central Missouri freshman Baylie Bellin (Blair Oaks High School) took 10th place in the hammer throw (129-10), while freshman Emma Albertson (Helias High School) placed 11th in the shot put (37-10.75) and 13th in the discus (94-10) for the Jennies.

Missouri S&T senior John Karsten (Blair Oaks High School) posted a provisional mark in the men's hammer throw, taking fifth place at 189-6. He also finished ninth in the discus (150-9) and 12th in the shot put (48-5.5).

Junior Tori Bonnot (Jefferson City High School) came in fifth place in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:25.08 for the Miners.

Missouri S&T freshman Luke Allen (Calvary Lutheran High School) took 10th place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 42-7.5. He also finished 14th in the long jump with a leap of 20-8.5.

Southwest Baptist freshman Rachel Holt (Jefferson City High School) tied for sixth place in the women's open pole vault, clearing a height of 9-5.75. She also finished 18th in the 200-meter dash in 30.33 seconds.

Southwest Baptist sophomore Drake Wilkerson (St. Elizabeth High School) took 12th place in the men's 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:03.10.
