Lincoln places five players on All-GLVC football team

After finishing the season second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in total defense, the Lincoln Blue Tigers had four defensive players earn all-conference honors, the league announced Wednesday.

Defensive back Aaron Brown, linebacker Willard Cotton and defensive lineman Isaish Gray all earned second-team All-GLVC.

Linebacker Addison Tucker, who was seventh in the conference with 92 tackles, earned honorable mention honors.

Lincoln receiver Blake Tibbs was also named second-team all-GLVC after leading the Blue Tigers with 38 receptions for 372 yards and three TDs.

Tibbs was also third in the GLVC with 11.9 yards per punt return.

Southwest Baptist defensive back Cory Hanger earned first-team honors. Hanger (South Callaway High School) led the league with five interceptions, including two against Lincoln, and 19 passes defended.

Fellow Bearcat Brayden Byrd (Jefferson City High School) was named an all-GLVC honorable mention as an offensive lineman.

Brown had the third-most tackles for Lincoln with 62. Cotton was second on the team with 69 tackles and led the Blue Tigers with 8.5 tackles for loss. Gray was second behind Cotton with five tackles for loss and was fifth on the team with 46 tackles.
