Lincoln softball swept at Emporia State

EMPORIA, Kan. - The Lincoln Blue Tigers got just one hit in dropping a softball doubleheader Saturday to the Emporia State Hornets.

Emporia State's Kaitlyn Caston no-hit Lincoln in the opener, an 8-0 victory. She walked three and struck out five.

Spencer Silva was the losing pitcher, going all seven innings. She allowed seven earned runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out one.

Avery Myers got Lincoln's lone hit in the second game, a one-out single in the seventh, as Emporia State posted a 7-0 victory.

Madison Ragar took the loss for Lincoln. She allowed seven earned runs on nine hits in going the distance.

Emporia State is 11-4 overall, 2-0 in the Mid-America Intercollegate Athletic Association.

Lincoln (0-9, 0-4) will host Drury in a non-conference twinbill today starting at 1 p.m.
