College Track: CMU Open results

FAYETTE - William Woods senior Kaleb Wilson finished first in the men's 3,000-meter run Saturday in the Owl's outdoor season opener at Central Methodist.

Wilson (Linn High School) posted a winning time of 9:18.23. He also finished third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:13.47.

Also competing the 3,000-meter run for the Owls were Charlie Schattgen (New Bloomfield High School) and Jamie Porter (Russellville High School). Schattgen finished 11th in 10:17.82, while Porter was 12th in 10:19.20.

Alex Thompson (Russellville High School) took sixth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:16.57. Porter took 27th (4:35.66), followed by Damion Miller (Russellville High School) in 28th place (4:40.55). Matt Fringer (Russellville High School) took 29th (4:42.00) and Schattgen was 30th (4:46.19).

In the 800-meter run, Thompson took 12th place in 2:09.79 and Miller finished 17th in 2:15.51.

For Central Methodist, freshman Ryan Bennett (Eldon High School) was on the Eagles' 4x400-meter relay, which finished first with a time of 3:29.12. Bennett also took seventh in the 800-meters with a time of 2:04.29.

Elliot Knernschield (Helias High School) placed fifth for the Eagles in the 800 in 2:03.57 and also finished eighth in the 1,500 in 4:17.27.

Joe Bruemmer (Helias High School) took ninth in the 3,000 in a time of 9:56.37.

Westminster's Glenn Teubner (Jefferson City High School) finished in fourth place in the 3,000 in a time of 9:31.50 and also placed 13th in the 1,500 in 4:21.74.

Missouri Valley's Ethan Carden (Versailles High School) took 15th in the discus with a throw of 107-3 and placed 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 117-10.

On the women's side, William Woods junior Madelyn Scrivner (Eldon High School) recorded three top-three finishes.

Scrivner placed second in both the hammer throw (149-10) and the discus (119-10) while taking third in the shot put (37-7.25).

Kaylee Ferrier (Helias High School) finished fourth in the discus (112-7) and Cassidy Roling (Helias High School placed eighth (101-4).

Ferrier also finished third in the hammer throw (141-6) and was 11th in the javelin (73-7). Roling took sixth place in the hammer throw (134-5) and finished 12th in the shot put (31-9.5).

Jorden Barnhart (Russellville High School) tied for fourth place in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4-7). She also finished seventh in the 100-meter dash in 13.08 seconds and was also ninth in the 200-meter dash (27.92).

Justice Miller (Russellville High School) took seventh place in the 400-meter dash for the Owls in 1:06.20. She added a 13th-place finish in the 100 (13.83) and took 15th in the 200 (28.93).

Both Barnhart and Miller also ran in the 4x100-meter relay, which William Woods won with a time of 52.25 seconds.

Westminster's Taylor Howard (South Callaway High School) finished fourth in the pole vault (8-6.25), fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:15.22) and 10th in the javelin (75-7). She also ran on the Blue Jays' 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams, which finished second and third respectively.

Central Methodist's Logan Reed (Eldon High School) took fifth place in the pole vault, clearing 8-0.5.
