ST. LOUIS - Columbia College senior Paxton Welch notched her second shutout of the season Saturday in the Cougars' 5-0 win against Missouri Baptist in American Midwest Conference play.
Welch (Helias High School) scattered four hits and struck out six batters to improve her season record to 7-3, lowering her season ERA to 1.31.
In the second game of the doubleheader, a 7-2 Cougars win, Karli Leeper (South Callaway High School) went 1-for-2 with a triple and one RBI.
Columbia College (17-3) will host Lindenwood-Belleville on Tuesday.
