Post 5 wins two in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. - The Jefferson City Post 5 senior legion baseball team picked up a pair of wins Thursday in the Battle of Omaha.

Post 5 used a four-run fourth inning to defeat Idaho 6-1 and a seven-run third inning to defeat Wahoo (Neb.) 13-5.

Jacob Weirich, Zach Stiles, Gaven Strobel, Hayden Hirschvogel and Ryan Paschal each had two hits against Idaho. Weirich and Paschal each recorded an RBI.

Devin Masek went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Weirich pitched four shutout innings to earn the win. He allowed three hits and struck out three. Drew Boessen struck out five in three innings of relief. He allowed a run on two hits.

Skyler Dickneite surrendered one run and a hit in three innings to get the win against Waho. He struck out six and walked one. Logan Bexten threw a hitless inning of relief.

Stiles drove in three runs, going 2-for-4. Paschal finished 2-for-2 with two RBI. Weirich, Strobel, Hirschvogel, Brandon Williams and Masek each drove in a run.
