Nevada routs Jefferson City

NEVADA, Mo. - The Nevada Griffons scored in six innings Wednesday in a 10-1 win against the Jefferson City Renegades.

The Griffons did the majority of their damage in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring three runs each.

Noah Menchaca led off the fifth with a walk and later scored on Michael Pagano's single. Ben Sneider also walked and scored on a fielder's choice. A Cole Solomon single made it 6-1.

Ben Bayless smacked a two-run double as part of the three-run sixth.

The Renegades' lone run came in the second when Tanner Wetrich singled in Avery Jennings, who led off with a double.

Jennings went 3-for-4. Mason Price and Jackson Walker each added a pair of hits. Hitters 6-9 in the lineup combined for eight of Jefferson City's 11 hits.

The Renegades stranded six runners in scoring position, including two in the third.

Caleb Lasher took the loss for Jefferson City, allowing three runs and seven hits with two walks in four innings.

Tyler Swehla pitched 22/3 innings of relief, allowing one run and three hits with a walk.

Jefferson City (8-10) remains in second place in the MINK League South Division, 3 games out from first-place Ozark. Nevada (6-10) moves up to third.

The Renegades will be at Vivion Field the next four days. They'll play the St. Joseph Mustangs (12-5) at 7 p.m. tonight.
