Mustangs roll past Renegades

The St. Joseph Mustangs came into Sunday night's game with one of the top offensive attacks in the MINK League this season.

They proved it again Sunday night at Vivion Field, scoring multiple runs in each of the first five innings in a 14-2 win against the Jefferson City Renegades.

The Mustangs (11-5), who average nearly 8.5 runs per game, scored multiple runs in each of the first five innings. St. Joseph scored two runs in the first, second, third and fifth innings and posted five runs in the fourth. The Mustangs, who finished with 14 hits, got their final run in the eighth.

The Renegades got their two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Avery Jennings had an RBI single for Jefferson City, with the other run coming after an error.

Four Renegades - Mike Million, Jennings, Jady Reese and Brandon Beeler - had one hit each in the game.

Garrett West took the loss for Jefferson City. He allowed six runs, all earned, on eight hits and three walks in three innings while recording one strikeout. Ethan O'Keefe, Christian Thrasher, Caleb Thomas, Ty Roseberry and Mason Price all pitched in relief.

Jefferson City (8-8) is off today before traveling to Nevada for a two-game series starting Tuesday.
