Renegades clinch playoff spot

In their first year of existence, the Jefferson City Renegades are postseason bound.

With the Joplin Outlaws' 17-4 loss at the Sedalia Bombers on Thursday night, the Renegades clinched a spot in the MINK League playoffs.

Jefferson City is third in the South Division with a 15-22 league record, 6 games behind the Ozark Generals and four games back of the Nevada Griffons with five league games remaining. Joplin is fourth with an 11-28 record.

The teams that finish second and third in each division play each other in a one-game playoff Wednesday with the winner advancing to face the division winner in a one-game playoff. The winner of that game will advance to a best-of-three series for the league championship.

The Renegades will play a doubleheader at 6 p.m. today at Ozark.
