College Track: Scrivner wins at Snow Bird Open

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - William Woods junior Madelyn Scrivner picked up a win last Saturday in the women's weight throws at the Snow Bird Open hosted by Illinois College.

Scrivner (Eldon High School) posted a winning throw of 45 feet, 9.25 inches. Her teammate, senior Kaylee Ferrier (Helias High School), finished second with a throw of 45-7.75, while sophomore Cassidy Roling (Helias High School) finished 13th with a toss of 38-8.25.

In the women's shot put, Scrivner finished seventh (36-4.75), followed by Ferrier in 15th place (33-9.25) and Roling in 19th place (33-1.25).

Freshman Ryan Esterline (Jefferson City High School) and sophomore Justice Miller (Russellville High School) competed for the Owls in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay, finishing fourth with a time of 14:20.09. Esterline also finished 21st in the mile run with a time of 6:13.34.

Truman State sophomore Katie Eichholz (Fatima High School) tied for fifth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-1. William Woods freshman Jorden Barnhart (Russellville High School) tied for eighth at 4-11.

Eichholz also finished 14th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.11 seconds. Barnhart was 22nd (28.04) and Miller took 37th place (30.85).

Central Methodist freshman Logan Reed (Eldon High School) placed eighth in the pole vault at 8-0.5.

On the men's side, William Woods sophomore Alex Thompson competed on two relay teams that finished in the top-10. Thompson (Russellville High School) was on the Owls' 4x400-meter relay team that finished seventh in a time of 3:36.70. Thompson added a 12th-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:10.67.

Thompson was also joined by senior Kaleb Wilson (Linn High School) on the 4,000-meter distance medley relay, which placed fourth in a time of 11:14.83.

In the mile run, Central Methodist freshman Elliot Knernschield (Helias High School) took eighth place in a time of 4:46.27. William Woods freshman Matt Fringer (Russellville High School) placed 20th (5:01.61) and Owls sophomore Jamie Porter (Russellville High School) finished 22nd (5:04.03).

Fringer led the way in the 3,000-meter run, taking 15th place in a time of 10:05.37. Central Methodist freshman Joseph Bruemmer (Helias High School) came in 20th place (10:09.61) followed by Porter in 22nd place (10:24.87) and William Woods freshman Charlie Schattgen (New Bloomfield High School) in 23rd place (10:36.22).

Central Methodist freshman Jacob Gourley (Jefferson City High School) came in 20th place in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 55.61 seconds. Central Methodist freshman Ryan Bennett (Eldon High School) placed 20th in 55.95 seconds.
