CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois freshman forward Nicole Martin grabbed a team-high eight rebounds Sunday in the Salukis' 78-60 loss against the Missouri State Bears in a Missouri Valley Conference contest.
Martin (Jefferson City High School) also scored six points off the bench for Southern Illinois, finishing 3-of-5 shooting from the field.
For Missouri State, junior guard Lee Ann Polowy (Blair Oaks High School) finished with six points and four rebounds off the bench. Polowy knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and has made 16 3s this season, third best on the Bears.
Southern Illinois (8-9) plays next Sunday at Evansville. Missouri State (7-9) will host Illinois State on Friday.
