Missouri's Howard arrested again

Missouri defensive end Nate Howard was arrested Monday by MU Police. Howard was pulled over in late March by the Missouri Highway Patrol for misdemeanor excessive speed in Montgomery County for exceeding the posted speed limit by 6-10 miles per hour, according to court records.

After Howard, a junior, failed to pay a $121 fine, a Montgomery County judge issued a warrant Thursday for failure to appear to contest the ticket. He pleaded guilty and posted bond Tuesday.

Howard is currently suspended indefinitely from the team after an arrest for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance. According to MUPD officers, Howard was in possession of mushrooms discovered during a traffic stop in June. His case is scheduled to be reviewed Aug. 24. The two cases and arrests are unrelated.

Head coach Barry Odom has not yet made a public decision on whether Howard will be allowed to return to the team.
