Four Blue Tigers honored in softball

Four Lincoln Blue Tigers softball players have been named All-MIAA honorable mention.

First baseman Macie Kinsey, third baseman Jordan Lawson, outfielder Kiley Kerr and utility/pitcher Sara Westhoff were selected to the squad.

Kinsey started 52 games this season, led the team with 34 hits. The senior had a home run and eight doubles, while scoring 10 runs and driving in 13 while batting .284. She also pitched 33 innings.

Lawson led the Blue Tigers with three home runs, two triples and 10 doubles. A freshman, Lawson totaled 33 hits, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored while starting 52 games.

Kerr scored a team-high 17 runs while driving in 10. The junior was Lincoln's leadoff batter in 51 of its 52 games this season, playing mainly in center field.

Westhoff led Lincoln in batting with a .293 average, while recording a team-high 35 strikeouts in the circle during her senior season.

Lincoln finished with a 5-47 overall record, 2-24 in the conference.
