DES MOINES, Iowa - Northern Iowa freshman Sammey Bunch went 2-for-4 with three runs scored last Tuesday in the Panthers' 12-0 win against Drake.
Bunch (Fatima High School) scored twice in Northern Iowa's nine-run sixth inning, as well as in the fourth. Both of her hits were singles.
In 43 games this season, Bunch has a .309 batting average (38-for-123) with 35 runs scored, 19 RBI and 16 extra-base hits, including a team-high nine doubles. She also has stolen 11 bases to lead the Panthers.
Northern Iowa (26-17) hosts Drake on Tuesday.
