College Baseball: Robertson homers for Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. - Creighton freshman Will Robertson hit the game-tying home run, then followed with a walk-off single in the ninth inning Friday to give the Bluejays a 6-5 win against Villanova.

Robertson (Fatima High School) hit his second home run of the season with a two-run blast to right field in the eighth inning to tie the game at 5. Then in the ninth inning, he had a two-out single to score the winning run and finish the game 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored. He was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

In 34 games this season, Robertson is batting .297 (35-for-118) with 17 RBI and 16 runs scored.

Creighton (18-16) hosts Wichita State on Tuesday.
