College Track and Field: Dorge sets personal bests

PITTSBURG, Kan. - Central Missouri junior Amy Dorge recorded a trio of top-three finishes Saturday at the David Suenram Gorilla Classic hosted by Pittsburg State.

Dorge (Blair Oaks High School) set a personal-best mark in the hammer throw, finishing second with a toss of 165 feet, 4 inches. She also had a personal record in the shot put, taking third place with a throw of 45-3.5, which is an NCAA Division II provisional mark.

In the discus, Dorge also had a provisional mark, taking third place with a throw of 147-5.

Missouri Southern junior Allie Heckemeyer (St. Elizabeth High School) finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 17-11.5.

On the men's side, freshman Tyler Schrimpf (Helias High School) set a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 14-0.5 to finish in 21st place.
