COLUMBIA - Jordan Chavis came off the bench to hit five 3-pointers Tuesday night to lead the Missouri Tigers to a 77-48 victory against the Indiana State Sycamores at Mizzou Arena in women's basketball action.
Chavis, a freshman, finished with 17 points as Missouri won its 26th consecutive non-conference home game.
Cierra Porter added 16 points in the victory, while Sophie Cunningham added 15 and Hannah Schuchts chipped in with 10. Cunningham and Schuchts both had six rebounds, with Cunningham also dishing out four assists.
Missouri dominated from the start Tuesday, scoring the first 14 points of the contest on its way to a 20-6 lead after one quarter.
The Tigers led by as many as 15 points in the second quarter, including a 34-19 advantage at the break. The Sycamores (2-2) got to within eight early in the third quarter before the Tigers used a 13-0 run to ice the contest.
Missouri (3-1) finished 27-of-28 from the free-throw line in the game.
The Tigers will play Friday and Saturday in the Junkaroo Jam in the Bahamas. Missouri will open against Creighton at 4:15 p.m. Friday, then take on either Dayton or Georgia Tech on Saturday.
