Coaches pick Lincoln to finish last

The Lincoln football team was picked to finish last in the 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches' Poll, which was announced Friday during the GLVC Kickoff event in Lebanon, Ill.

The Blue Tigers garnered eighth points in the preseason poll, picked to finish in ninth place. Lincoln finished with a 1-10 overall record in 2015 and went 0-8 in the GLVC.

Indianapolis received the maximum of eight first-place votes and 64 points. It is the fifth straight season the Greyhounds have been picked to win the GLVC in the preseason poll.

McKendree claimed the remaining first-place vote and is picked to finish second with 56 points.

The Blue Tigers will open camp Aug. 13 and start the 2016 season at home Sept. 3 against Langston.
