Lincoln women's basketball loses at home

In the women's game Thursday night, an Azaria Nave jumper with 7:12 left got the Lincoln women within three points, but Missouri Southern closed out the game with a 14-3 run to beat the Blue Tigers 70-56.

Lincoln (1-6, 0-1 MIAA) trailed by as many as 16 points in the third quarter.

Jasmine Green made a layup to make it 50-34 with 3:23 left in the third quarter, but Citali Lopez answered with a 3-pointer to start a 7-0 run for Lincoln.

The Blue Tigers trailed 55-46 after three quarters before a 7-1 run to begin the fourth quarter cut the deficit to three.

Lopez made a 3 to get it started. Hunter Yoakum, who scored a team-high 20 points, had a layup while Nave made a jumper to cap off the run.

Yoakum also tied for a team-high seven rebounds.

Erica Gibbons scored 12 points in 19 minutes on the floor.

Lincoln hosts Pittsburg State at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
