CLEARWATER, Fla. — The Missouri Tigers scored in double digits for the third straight game Sunday, posting a 10-1 victory against Monmouth to close play in the South Florida Softball Tournament.
Missouri finished with 52 runs and 53 hits in the five-game tournament.
Missouri jumped out to a 7-1 lead with three runs in the first inning and four in the second. The Tigers then scored three more in the fourth.
Kirsten Mack had three hits and three RBI to lead Missouri. Braxton Burnside added two hits and two RBI. Paige Bange (Helias High School) and Cayla Kessinger also drove in two runs.
Madi Norman (Tipton High School) was the winning pitcher, allowing an unearned run on two hits and two walks in four innings. She struck out two. Conrad Parker allowed a hit and a walk in one inning of relief in the five-inning contest.
Missouri (17-11) is back in action Friday when it opens an SEC series against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
