Missouri falls to Oklahoma in wrestling

NORMAN, Okla. — The Missouri Tigers won four of the 10 matches Sunday and dropped a 24-18 wrestling decision to the Oklahoma Sooners.

John Erneste (133 pounds) and Dylan Wisman (174) both won by fall for the Tigers. Lavion Mayes (149) and J'Den Cox (197) both won by decision. 

Cox is now 15-0 on the season and has won 35 straight matches dating back to last season.

It's Missouri's first loss to Oklahoma in a dual since an 18-12 decision Feb. 5, 2011, in Norman. Oklahoma, ranked No. 18, is now 2-3 in duals this season.

Missouri (5-2, ranked No. 5) will wrestle three straight duals on the road, starting Thursday at Buffalo in Mid-American Conference action. Missouri will then take on No. 8 Cornell on Saturday and Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
