Your Opinion: NT promotes liberal leftist ideology

Dear Editor:

I'm writing in reference to two articles in the Sept. 10, 2019, issue of the News Tribune. The first article that caught my eye was by the Associated Press on page A5: "For some Texans, nearest abortion clinic is 250 miles away." Why does the News Tribune feel this article warrants space in our local newspaper? Is it to raise the issue of the tremendous hardship on baby killers? Maybe it's to make us feel sorry for them and send them some money for gas. What was the reason it was deemed important enough to use valuable newsprint space? Wouldn't it been better to provide information to help the Texans find places for help to save their babies? Wouldn't information on how far they would have to drive to an adoption center or for financial or personal help so they can keep their baby?

The other article on page E1: "Cannibis confusion; CBD is everywhere, but is it legal" by Briana Adhikusuma, The Virginian-Pilot (TNS). What's the reason for the NT taking most of a page to expound on the legality of marijuana and the promotion the various forms of marijuana? I'm sure the Woods' are ecstatic over the free publicity of their, I'm sure, very profitable culture destructive product! It seems this article as with the article referenced in the previous paragraph, the News Tribune has a penchant for any news that promotes the liberal leftist ideology of culture destruction with no opposing views. For instance, I have written letters documenting legitimate scientific evidence exposing the dangers of marijuana to our young people. The most recent was "Gun control and marijuana" published Aug. 28, 2019. I wonder if this NT article was meant to counter any evidence that marijuana is dangerous to our young by an article as a diversion to give the impression that the only problem with marijuana is the legality question?

We hear a lot about fake news but the above articles which appear to promote the destruction of our increasingly morally challenged culture, I feel is as bad or worse. The least that should be done when the subject(s) are so controversial is to offer equivalent space for legitimate documented opposing views!
