Dear Editor:
It’s interesting that the all but one of the books referenced in Mr. Horstmann’s letter are about strong, intelligent women. The right seems to have a problem with women who dare to succeed in business and politics. Diverse books build respect and empathy for others. By the way, the banned books mentioned were done so because of complaints by conservatives and the religious right, not by “socialist Democrats”!
