Your Opinion: LTEs cause consternation

Dear Editor:

Recently the letters to the editor have caused me a bit of consternation. First, there has been the issue of how too much carbon dioxide does not really impact on our air quality. The air we breathe contains 78.09 percent nitrogen, 20.95 percent oxygen, 0.93 percent argon, 0.04 percent carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. If there is more carbon dioxide, pressure is placed on nitrogen and oxygen. Yes, about a fifth of our air is oxygen and very little is carbon dioxide, but as the amount of carbon dioxide rises, the amount of oxygen decreases. A good example of what happens when there is too much carbon dioxide is the very toxic to life planet Venus. Life cannot exist as we know it on Venus because of the great quantities of carbon dioxide.

Secondly, I do not understand the debate when President Trump told the four progressive congressmen to go home and fix their country. Three of them were born in this country. I wish he would think before he Twitters, but I guess that will not happen too soon. I guess what he was saying is that America is broken and we need these individuals to go and fix it — progressives who are also members of the Democratic Party. I believe that’s why they ran and were voted in as members of congress — to fix this nation. By the way, the News Tribune ran an excellent article about a Somalian immigrant who is now doing fantastic things in Minnesota — as a developer and employer, she is actually making Minneapolis a better place to live. Should we send her back when she is doing great work right here?

Lastly, what is all of this hoopla about let’s Make America Great Again? When was America not great? Are the people wearing the Make America Great Again actually saying it’s not great and that’s why we have to make it great again? I’m a bit confused — but what’s most confusing is do they know the hats they are wearing proudly are not even made in America, but are made in China? Help.
