Your Opinion: Response to Haslag

Steve Brown

Holts Summit

Dear Editor:

I expected Robert Haslag to respond, rise to the bait, and he did on May 28. Of course I was not the only target of his whining but was so happy to be included. You see, I was and am that “Steve Brown” that ran for school board from Holts Summit and was at the Cole County Democratic meeting, along with you. I was invited along with the other three candidates for the Jefferson City School Board.

Yup, I said exactly what you quoted but then as usual with liberals, you told half the story. I was last of four candidates to respond to whether teachers should be allowed to carry and conceal. “Give ’em all guns at the door!” My point was to get the crowd’s attention and I did. I immediately said obviously this is an exaggeration and a joke but to hide and die is not an option. I further explained my position on this topic concerning keeping our kids safe, but you didn’t want to share that.

This was during the same meeting where a President Trump toilet bowl cleaner was displayed and the crowd found that humorous. A clown at a rodeo wore an Obama mask and was fired for it. Yes, Robert Haslag, the Hate Donald Trump Syndrome is a real disease. I doubt you’ll recover.
