Your Opinion: What must Paula Jones think?

Dear Editor:

As I read the current news or watch TV news about the recent issues regarding the current candidate to the Supreme Court, I wonder what Paula Jones is thinking now? For those of you too young to know who she is or what her story was, a brief review is in order. According to Jones, who was a state employee, she was asked to come to a hotel room in Little Rock, Arkansas, to meet with then-Gov. Bill Clinton. She had said she thought he was going to offer her a job in the Clinton Administration, but all he was offering was himself. Talk about sexual harassment. She did eventually get a cash payment for what happened. When the story broke in 1994 while he was president, I remember the national Democratic establishment turned against her as did the National Association for Women (NOW). I can’t help but wonder what she was thinking now seeing how the Democratic establishment is appearing to be so righteous and maybe time will prove them right in the current fight for the Supreme Court but I wish they had been as interested in all women in 1994 for her sake.

On another note, I don’t plan to vote for either candidates for the U.S. Senate, but who asked Sen. Claire McCaskill to be bipartisan or reach across the aisle?

And lastly, I think President Trump’s slogan “America First” would be better stated, “America Alone.”
