Your Opinion: Help clean up city trash

Dear Editor:

I moved to Jefferson City seven years ago, and I absolutely love it. The people are smart, and very nice and friendly. I will be 80 years old this month, and the reason that matters to me is I never dreamed I would live that long.

I find Jefferson City has a few hills. I mention this because I no longer have a car and ride the buses for transportation. We do have an outstanding bus system. You can go anywhere in town for $1. But to walk between bus stops can be a challenge. My thigh and calf muscles are stronger than they have ever been.

I have also noticed trash along the streets during those walks. I plan to buy one of those gripper tools to pick up trash as I go. I hope you join me in picking up any trash. Then we will not have only one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but one of the cleanest as well.
