Your Opinion: Liberal left ripping off taxpayers

Dear Editor:

I'm sending two articles to prove the intent of the liberal left Democrats to rip off the American taxpayer resulting in lining their pockets and the pockets of their supporters with our hard earned tax dollars!

The first article by James Delingpole dated Oct. 10, 2017: "Delingpole: Man-Made Climate Catastrophe Is a Myth, More Studies Confirm" (www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/10/10/delingpole-man-made-climate-catastrophe-is-a-myth-more-studies-confirm/).

"One, a study by Scafetta et al, published in International Journal of Heat and Technology, confirms that the 'pause' in global warming is real and that 'climate change' is much more likely the result of natural, cyclical fluctuations than man-made CO2 emissions." "Note also that it says the computer-modelled predictions of climate doom relied on by all global warming alarmists to support their thesis are wrong."

"The second study, by Hodgkins et al, published in the Journal of Hydrology, concerns flooding in North America and Europe. What it shows is that, contrary to the claims often made by climate alarmists, there has been no increase in flooding due to "global warming" or "climate change."

The second article by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D, dated Oct. 9, 2017: "Report: Renewable Energy Is Bigger 'Scam' than Bernie Madoff and Enron" (www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/10/09/report-renewable-energy-is-bigger-scam-than-bernie-madoff-and-enron/).

"According to Forbes, on a total dollar basis, wind and solar together get more from the federal government than all other energy sources combined, despite the fact that neither is anywhere close to self-supporting. Wind has received the greatest amount of federal subsidies. Solar is second." "In absolute terms, between 2010 and 2013 solar energy alone saw a 500 percent increase in federal subsidies from $1.1 billion to $5.3 billion." "In this same period, subsidies for fossil fuels decreased by 15 percent. from $4.0 billion to $3.4 billion, and subsidies for nuclear energy fell by 12 percent, from $1.9 billion to $1.7 billion." "While during the period between 2010 and 2014 nuclear energy cost about 4¢ and 5¢ per kWh to produce, solar energy cost between 80¢ and 100¢ per kWh, or 20 times as much to produce."

It's about money and how much the liberal left can extract from taxpayers to advance their socialist causes!
