Your Opinion: Yes on school bond issue

Dear Editor:

My grandfather Bernard Schanzmeyer (Schanzmeyer Chevrolet and Ford) taught my mother and her four sisters the value of needs vs. wants. From Legos, fireworks, a new computer, clothes and books. I am 32 years old, a successful business person and a thought leader in the community. Believe me when I say this, I vowed to move away along time ago. My mother to this day continues to share that same message: "Nathan, do you need it or do you want it?"

When you go to the polls on April 4, I want you to think to yourself: Does Jefferson City need a second high school? Do our kids deserve smaller learning environments? Does an athlete that's on an extra large athletic or academic team deserve a better shot to play or get a scholarship? Do teachers need more support from our community? Do children deserve to learn in trailers, a hallway or eat their lunch on the floor?

Please join me April 4 voting "yes" on Proposition J and "yes" on Proposition C because our town, our community and our kids need this. #ItsTime
