Your Opinion: Look in the mirror

Dear Editor:

Mr. Jeff Holzem, I find your letter concerning "stewardship of the earth" quite interesting. Let's address some of the issues you mentioned: burning fossil fuels - Are you and your family driving a internal combustion engine vehicles? Gas lawn mower? All of these use fossil fuels. Are you using electricity in your home provided by your local electric company? Some of this power is from hydro plants but mostly coal burning generators, again a fossil fuel. Changes to aquatic life such as the frog you mentioned. Is there any females in your family using artificial birth control? Environmental scientist have proven these harmful chemicals are not filtered out of the water systems and are being dumped by the amounts not measurable into the creeks, streams, rivers, and ocean effecting every kind of aquatic life to their determent or demise. Is your family eating beer, pork, and poultry? Stock yards are the largest producers of methane that depletes the ozone!

When you have stopped using all the above and enriched "the earth and its resources" let us know how you did it and how you are doing. As Michael Jackson sang, "Start with the man in the mirror."
