Your Opinion: Paris Accord was high price for little results

Dear Editor:

I was absolutely relieved when our president Trump announced that the USA was pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords. It would have cost the American taxpayers hundreds of trillions of dollars and for little if any result.

Since the pullout, climate alarmists have fallen back on their old lies and have once again proved that the whole thing is about wealth redistribution and not climate. First, CO2 doesn't cause asthma so no there will not be millions of children dying because of the pullout. There will not be mass migrations from Florida to the Midwest as the ocean swallows up Florida. The IPCC report itself states that it will take a massive temperature increase and then after that it will take 3,000 years for the ice to melt in Antarctica. Think about that just for a minute, they are claiming that your children and grandchildren will be affected by this when in reality it will take longer than the time span between Jesus and today by over 1,000 years.

If you really want to see the real reason, all you have to do is look at the LTE and visit alarmist websites. Just recently a LTE was once again proclaiming the glories of a carbon tax and how it will help the poor by taking money from the greedy evil fossil fuel companies and redistributing it, well actually the money will come from us consumers, but, hey, why quibble?

In one letter from a couple of years ago a person wrote that they could sure use that money. Reality is, it isn't your money and it isn't the governments. It belongs to the company who did the work and the investors who had faith in those companies. Those bills you pay, by choice because you don't have to buy electricity nor fossil fuels, doesn't just make profit it also pays employees who work hard to get that power to you. According to Forbes renewable energy gets 25 times more subsidies than fossil fuels based on per unit of energy produced in the USA. Another report stated that wind farms in Texas were begging for subsidies because they didn't make enough money to repair the wind mills they had much less buy new ones. It is time to stop dropping our tax dollars into money pits and keep it in our pockets. So thank you, President Trump.
