Your Opinion: Senator should resign after near-treasonous post

Dear Editor:

State Senator Chappelle-Nadal can apologize every day for the rest of her life, but it won't take back what she posted on Facebook. I'm amazed Homeland Security has not been all over her! Would they not have had it been your average guy on the street who threatened the life of a president? I'm confused, outraged and disappointed at our state government's almost nonchalance! What Ms. Chapelle-Nadal did, is it not near-treasonous?! She should resign immediately, but has not the grace and good sense to do so. I did not vote for this president, but the office of the president of the United States is the highest office in this country and has always demanded the greatest respect it can be afforded. When did that change?! If it has, then all I've been taught and learned in my near 80 years is questionable, I guess. This "post" cannot and should not be brushed to the side. It did occur and this senator must be punished. If not here, where is the line?
