Your Opinion: Agricultural differences

Dear Editor:

The recent article: Ag support for Koster on display" quotes Chris Koster (Democrat for governor) as saying: "Eric (Greitens, Republican for governor) is still trying to figure out the difference between a herbicide and a pesticide, and I have a deep history with agriculture "

The previous statement causes me to think that Koster does not have such a "deep history" or understanding of agriculture. If Koster had taken or paid attention during Private Pesticide Applicator training, which is commonly taken by the vast majority of farmers and farm business folks, he would know that a herbicide is a pesticide. Herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, etc. are all subclasses of the overall term of pesticide.

I am still a supporter of Koster's campaign but he should make sure his agricultural statements are accurate.
