Your Opinion: Be wary of false promises

Dear Editor:

I am writing this in regard to the issue of the upcoming election, and wish to ring in on my own personal views on it.

What do you do when you realize that being able to afford to buy anything you want, or afford to do anything you wish to do still doesn't make you happy or give you peace? You become extremely miserable.

You look for other things to make you happy only to find out, in time, they don't bring happiness or peace within at all. When you've had the money and everything you have ever dreamed of, then there is only one thing left to make you happy. (Power)!

Be careful of those who make false promises to gain your trust. They will only use you to gain what they want. Once they get what they want (power) and realize they are still not happy, they will lash out and turn on the very ones who helped them get it.

I have decided who I am for in this election. I will keep it to myself just for the simple fact some people are very judgmental of people by who they vote for. I made my decision based on the same values, principles and morals that I was raised with.

We are voting for the future of our daughters and sons, granddaughters and grandsons. What kind of impression do we want to leave on them? What kind of role model do they deserve? What we decide is the impression we will leave on them.
