Your Opinion: Liberal tactic used to misrepresent statements

Dear Editor:

I'm writing this letter to clearly demonstrate the tactic liberals typically use by misrepresenting statements in order to win an argument. The following is my May 3 letter to which Tony Smith responded by his letter published on May 11 which will prove my point.

My letter as published: "My my, just when I thought everyone had given up and accepted the well known exposure of the manipulation of computer model data to promote the climate change hoax, another letter surfaces.

Well, I thought I'd respond with this little tidbit from an April 30 Associated Press article: "The Latest: Berkshire investors reject climate change report" (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_BERKSHIRE_HATHAWAY_SHAREHOLDERS_THE_LATEST?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-04-30-20-36-16). A quote from the article: "Berkshire Hathaway shareholders have overwhelmingly rejected a resolution calling for the company to write a report about the risks climate change creates for its insurance companies."

Since insurance companies drive most government regulation and liberal actions to save us from ourselves, to me this is huge.

If I had to choose who to believe, our government's dubious information promoted by the liberal press to generate more tax money and power for liberal democrats or an organization whose existence is based on profits, there is no question in my mind who I would believe. Of course that's just me using my capitalist logic."

The following are misquotes in Smith's letter: "writer urges us to trust in America's true religion, 'mammon" or wealth.'" "Capitalism, we are told, will provide the answers." "The letter alleges that investment titan Warren Buffet rejects climate change as real."

Warren Buffet is not even mentioned in my letter nor is the intent of the letter to say capitalism and/or wealth has all the answers. Smith quoted "We socialized the recovery so capitalists could profit." Wrong! We socialized the recovery so Democrats can stay in power by creating a permanent dependent underclass which in turn is destroying our nation. Margaret Thatcher was right: "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." Well, we've just about done it!

If liberals would only extol the virtues of freedom as they do socialism we would be living in a totally different political, social and economic environment!
