On behalf of the Home Builders Association of Central Missouri, I am writing in support of Proposition 1 on the August 2 ballot in Jefferson City.
Proposition 1 allows voters to renew the current half-cent capital improvements sales tax for another five years. The tax has been in place since the 1987 and has played a crucial role in funding roads and projects within the city.
In addition, these funds have been used in various large scale community projects such as the recent Highway 179 extension. The HBA fully supports the renewal of the sales tax and encourages everyone to join us in voted yes on Proposition 1.
