Your Opinion: Is nuisance exaggerated?

Dear Editor:

As a person that loves all airplanes great and small, I've been out to the RC field at Binder Lake on many occasions hoping to see airplanes.

I wish someone would phone me when all this flying, noise and activity is going on as I have failed to see it. And how do I miss it when I've been out there at all times and days of the week?

Constant noise, could this be an exaggeration? I don't have any statistics, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think being struck by lightning a greater risk than being struck and killed by a model airplane made of balsa wood and plastic. Perhaps a hard hat would be in order if there is that much danger.

And when you're done with it loan it to me as I live near the public golf course on the east end, also a part of the Jefferson City Parks system. I've considered in earnest I might have my life ended by a wayward golf ball, and I have golf balls strike my house often.

The reason for not complaining is because I knew the golf course was here when I bought the house. I would suggest people living in the subdivision by the RC field had that knowledge also.

The moral of the story is, don't buy a house near the hog farm if you can't stand the smell!
