Your Opinion: Response to O'Mara on political cartoon

Dear Editor:

In response to Tim O'Mara's letter published 7/31/16 "Political cartoon stokes fears," his view is consistent with the liberal left's playbook to disparage any logical thought which would jeopardize their unscrupulous march to power.

The argument against a requirement for voter ID for voter registration cannot in any way be logically defended. Of course fear, denial and distortion always trump logic in any debate with a liberal. Any citizen, in this day and age, who is lawfully able to vote, and aware enough to understand the responsibility of voting would have an ID. Of course, how does one ever prove that? It would be as impossible as it is to vet our immigrants as to their intent to destroy us!

Why do any of us have insurance? Just because we may have never needed it, then why have it? Because logically thinking intelligent people understand that any unexpected event that negatively impacts our lives and cannot be prevented should be protected against. Maintaining the integrity of elections to protect our republic should be of prime importance, instead power and the elimination of our sovereignty is the liberal Democrats goal.

Mr. O'Mara's case against voter fraud is that false voter registration has only happened 17 times. He also says that false voter registration is "completely different than voter fraud or voter impersonation." A fraud is defined in http://www.dictionary.com/browse/fraud?s=t as "a person who makes deceitful pretenses." I hope he will write another letter and explain the difference.

For anyone to be in such denial of real world pitfalls for the reason of enabling dishonesty especially when it jeopardizes the absolute integrity of elections is unconscionable.

Again Jim Dyke has through his cartoons demonstrated his understanding of and undying efforts to maintain the most honest, straightforward, patriotic and moral approach to issues in his daily cartoons!

Keep up the good work, Jim!
