State Auditor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nicole Galloway reported Thursday that her candidate committee out-raised incumbent Republican Gov. Mike Parson's committee by $228,000 between July 1 and Sept. 30.

Galloway's committee, Nicole Galloway for Missouri, filed its October Quarterly Report with the Missouri Ethics Commission on Thursday.

The report shows her committee raised more than $544,000 in the most recent quarter, for a total of more than $776,000 raised for the Aug. 4, 2020, primary election. The general election, including for governor, is Nov. 3, 2020.

Galloway also reported in a news release from her campaign that an independent committee, "Keep Government Accountable," raised an additional $517,500 in support of her campaign, for a total of more than $1 million during the fundraising period that ended Sept. 30.

Keep Government Accountable is a political action committee initially organized in December 2017. Its treasurer is Kevin Gunn, of St. Louis, though the committee has a Kansas City post office box.

Gunn is the Principal of Paladin Energy Strategies and a former chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Keep Government Accountable also filed its October Quarterly Report with the state's ethics commission Thursday. Galloway's statement that the group raised $517,500 in support of her campaign means all of the money the PAC raised last quarter went to Galloway, with another $9,000 raised this calendar year or election cycle.

The contributions to Keep Government Accountable last quarter included $80,000 from the United Auto Workers PAC in Detroit - with contributions of $50,000 and then a further $30,000 - $50,000 from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 101's PAC in Kansas City, and $30,000 from the Pipe Fitters Local Union 533's PAC in Kansas City.

Galloway formally launched her campaign Aug. 12.

Her own committee reported individual contributions for the last quarter mainly in the range of low hundreds or low thousands of dollars, or less.

"I'm running for Governor to put Jefferson City back on the side of working families and it is clear that Missourians are ready for a new way," Galloway said in her campaign's news release.

"For too long, Missouri government has delivered for the well connected who get what they want while Missouri families continue to struggle. As Auditor, I've fought against the broken system. As Governor, I'll end it," she added.

As of July - the most recent available ethics report, as of Thursday - Parson's candidate committee, Parson for Missouri, had raised almost $120,000 between April 1 and June 30, for a total of more than $1.6 million in the current calendar year or election cycle.

The reported individual contributions in July's quarterly report from Parson's committee also were mainly in the range of low hundreds or low thousands of dollars, or less.

Parson announced his intent to seek a full four-year gubernatorial term in 2020 on Sept. 8, according to the Associated Press. Parson became governor after former Gov. Eric Greitens resigned in June 2018.
