KC men arrested after Menards theft

Two Kansas City men have been arrested after allegedly stealing about $1,400 worth of thermostats in April from Menards on Stonecreek Drive in Jefferson City.

Raul Morales and Javier Toledo were charged with felony stealing after Jefferson City police responded April 25 to Menards, where they were shown surveillance videos of a man hiding thermostats in a shopping cart, according to a probable cause statement.

Employees had been notified by Menards' corporate office to look for Morales, who was suspected of committing thefts at multiple stores.

Morales was arrested by the Columbia Police Department on Wednesday and is being held in the Boone County Jail.

The bond for both men was set at $25,000, cash only.
