Parks-Rec tabs firm for rebranding

The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Commission approve a marketing firm to help rebrand the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department during Tuesday's meeting.

High 5 Communications will assess the department's branding and advertising before creating a marketing plan with recommendations. Todd Spalding, director of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, said part of this assessment will involve possibly changing the logo of the department so the logo could "respond a little better to the community."

Spalding said he hopes the firm will find ways the department can inform the community faster and more effectively.

The marketing plan will be completed in about six months, Spalding said.
