In just about any home, one can find a pair of eyeglasses no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life, members of the Lions Club said.

Lions Recycle for Sight program has Lions, Leos and other volunteers of the international community service organization collecting used eyeglasses and delivering them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs). LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in low- and middle-income communities where they will have the greatest impact.

In Jefferson City, additional eyeglass drop-off boxes have been made thanks to donations from Harold Butzer Inc., Local 36 (Sheet Metal Workers) and Show Me Powder Coating for the fabrication and powder coating of the boxes.

Usable eye wear can be dropped off at Lions-sponsored collection boxes throughout Jefferson City.

You can also package your usable eyeglasses and mail them to: Lions Clubs International Headquarters, Attention: Receiving Department, 300 W. 22nd St., Oak Brook, IL, 60523.
