Vehicle crashes into convenience store

No one was hurt after a vehicle crashed into a convenience store Thursday evening in Jefferson City.

Officers were called at 5:34 p.m. to respond to Break Time at 1940 W. Main St. for a non-injury crash, according to police department reports.

The investigation revealed Christopher Jordan, 68, of Jefferson City, was stopping in the parking lot near the side of the store when his foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the accelerator. The vehicle lunged forward over the tire stop and crashed into the side of the building.

There were no injuries reported at the time of the crash. The building was inspected, and no structural issues were found, so the store was able to remain open and in operation.
