The lone incumbent who ran in Tuesday's election will join two new members on the Blair Oaks School Board.

For three seats on the board, unofficial results show incumbent Peggy Luebbert got 421 votes, 28 percent of the vote; Nicki Russell 400 votes, 26 percent; and Douglas Moeller 256 votes, 17 percent. Moeller beat candidate Paul Mudd by three votes, with Mudd at 253. The fourth candidate, Scott Farley, received 162 votes, 10.8 percent.

Luebbert has been on the board for six years. She said she likes the direction the district is heading and sees exciting times ahead as they try to build a new high school.

Russell said there were two primary reasons she wanted to serve on the school board. One was to help influence the success of children while they are in school and for post-graduation success as members of society. The second was to make a positive impact in the community and for the district's taxpayers.

Moeller's daughter and son graduated from Blair Oaks. He said he wanted to keep the board well rounded, with some board members who don't have children in school. He plans to be a spokesperson for people who might have grandchildren in the Blair Oaks system or just pay taxes into it.
