Rocky Mount man suffers serious injuries after rear-ended vehicle Saturday in Osage Beach

A Rocky Mount man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle Saturday in front of the Osage Beach Walmart.

According to a news release from the Osage Beach Police Department, at 3:51 p.m. Oct. 22, Osage Beach police officers responded to a two-vehicle injury accident on Osage Beach Parkway in front of Walmart Supercenter.

The accident occurred when a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R600K motorcycle, operated by 24-year-old Cody W. Schacht of Rocky Mount, was unable to stop and rear-ended a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, driven by 59-year-old Joseph L. Knollhoff of Lake Ozark, the news release said.

Schacht sustained serious injuries, and Staff for Life flew him to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment. Knollhoff was not injured.

The Osage Beach and Mid-County fire protection districts and Camden County Ambulance District assisted the Osage Beach Police Department.
