Gravois Mills man and woman face drug charges after home searched for meth

A Gravois Mills man and woman face drug charges after Morgan County detectives searched a residence due to information received a man was allegedly selling methamphetamine out of the home.

According to a news release from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, deputies drove to a home on Gravois Heights Road in Gravois Mills at approximately 5:15 p.m. Oct. 5 after detectives received information a man was allegedly selling methamphetamine out of the residence.

Deputies made contact with a resident of the house and he was informed of the information. The resident allegedly granted consent to search the residence and in the kitchen trashcan a broken glass smoking pipe was located. The glass smoking pipe field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the news release.

Deputies secured the residence to apply for a search warrant and deputies met another resident of the house driving on the gravel road, known to them as Brandon Wood. Wood, 27, Gravois Mills, is a resident at the address and was a person of interest in the investigation, the news release said. Ann Palmer, 46, Gravois Mills, was also in Wood's vehicle, according to the news release. Deputies stopped Wood and he allegedly granted consent to search his vehicle.
In the passenger side door, a small bag of a crystalline substance was located. The substance tested positive as methamphetamine, the news release said. The methamphetamine was later weighed at .84 ounces.

The search warrant for the residence was granted and executed, and no other narcotics were located inside the home. Both Wood and Palmer were arrested and transported to the Morgan County Jail.
Wood and Palmer were each charged with one count of a class C felony of possession of a controlled substance (except 35 grams or less of marijuana).
