Jefferson City woman charged in burglaries

A Jefferson City woman has been charged with one count of second-degree burglary in connection with recent burglaries that occurred in Cole County and three other Mid-Missouri counties.

As of Thursday afternoon, Nashyla Patton, 20, was being held in custody in the Cole County Jail.

Patton was taken into custody after one person already charged in this case said she had participated in the burglaries.

Patton told authorities she was waiting for officers to come speak with her since she knows everyone who had been taken into custody so far in this case.

She also said she was aware of the crimes and she had been to the home on Eagan Lane where multiple items taken in the burglaries were found after authorities served a search warrant there.

Patton said she drove Caden Wilkerson, 23, of Jefferson City, to a store in Jefferson City in the last month or so to sell stolen stolen jewelry and was given $40 of that money by Wilkerson.

Wilkerson was earlier charged with second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property in this case.

Patton said her accounts on social media showed she was bragging about "hitting licks" and said she had taken pictures holding some of the guns stolen in the burglaries.

She told authorities she took part in two burglaries in Cole County, but couldn't give specific locations because she was high on drugs at the time. She also said Wilkerson and Stephan Whelan were with her at the time. Whelan, 22, of Russellville, has been charged with felony receiving stolen property, second-degree burglary and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in this case.

Patton said gold necklaces and guns were taken in the two Cole County burglaries in which she was involved.

Those who were earlier charged include:

Zachary Schnieders, 20, of Jefferson City, charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

Brandon Wilkerson, 21, of Jefferson City, charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hunter Ferguson, 21, of Jefferson City, charged with receiving stolen property.

Ferguson, Whelan and the Wilkersons were stopped earlier this month in a vehicle believed to be connected to a Moniteau County burglary and taken into custody.

Following the traffic stop, Cole County detectives and deputies worked on the investigation with officers from Cooper, Moniteau and Miller counties and served a search warrant at a Cole County residence in the 1200 block of Eagan Lane, where Ferguson and the Wilkersons live.

The arrest of these individuals led to several burglary cases from each county being solved. Recovered stolen property included television sets, laptop computers, electronic tablets, jewelry, firearms, cameras and numerous other items.

All those involved said the stolen items were sold or traded for methamphetamine.
