Cole County residents decide issues, races

Voters in Cole County towns and villages cast ballots on a variety of contested races, as well as a few tax issues.

The issues and vote totals:

• Prop A: 50-cent hike on property tax in Wardsville: yes, 68 (27.64 percent); no, 178 (72.36 percent).

• Prop B, continuing to apply sales tax on titling of vehicles bought from someone other than a licensed Missouri dealer: yes, 166 (68.31 percent); no, 77 (31.69 percent).

• St. Thomas Council (vote for 1): Dan Lindenbusch, 32 (37.21 percent); Lloyd Herigon, 21 (24.42 percent); Brad Heckman, 30 (34.88 percent); write-in, 3 (3.49 percent).

• St. Martins Alderman, North Ward: Matt Kearns, 75 (78.95 percent); Robert Hamilton, 19 (20 percent); write-in, 1 (1.05 percent).

• St. Martins Alderman, South Ward: Daryl W. Raithel, 24 (100 percent).

• Russellville Mayor: Sharon Morgan, 61 (92.42 percent); write-in, 5 (7.58 percent).

• Russellville Alderman, East Ward: Sharon Williams, 32 (100 percent).

• Russellville Alderman, West Ward: Jonathan Freeman, 32 (96.97 percent); write-in, 1 (3.03 percent).

• Lohman Mayor: Tom Kirchner, 19 (90.48 percent); write-in, 2 (9.52 percent).

• Lohman Alderman, Ward 1: No candidates filed and there were no write-in candidates. The Lohman aldermen will have to appoint someone to this position.

• Lohman Alderman, Ward 2: Kevin Scheperle, 10 (100 percent).

• Centertown Trustee: Jesse Corona, 19 (54.29 percent); John P. Doyle, 16 (45.71 percent).

• Taos Mayor (write-in candidates - no one filed for the race): Anthony (Tony) Forck, 29; Thomas Wieberg, 15.

• Taos Alderman, Ward 1: Doug Prenger, 55 (98.21 percent); write-in, 1 (1.79 percent).

• Taos Alderman, Ward 2: Greg Langendoerfer, 61 (100 percent).

• Cole County R-1/ Russellville - three candidates for two seats (Cole and Moniteau County votes): Shawn L. Ehrhardt, 285; James R. Case, 236; Paul Buschjost, 199.
